“Higher Power, if I tell you that I want you to help me get free of sex and love addiction and anorexia (sexual, social, emotional) — no matter what else in my life may change — when the changing starts, would you please remind me (in a way I’ll NOTICE) that the changes mean “the good stuff is about to come”? Release me from resistance, fear and doubt. Grant me faith that you have a better plan for me than I could ever imagine for myself. And help me get out of my own way and allow your perfect plan for me to unfold without delay!”
What’s a “Higher Power Box”?
This is a container that You create. Any size, shape, and decoration (colors, stickers, motivational sayings, ribbons, bows, or plain for privacy). From shoe boxes to crystal candy boxes, you choose; just make it yours.
How do I a use a Higher Power Box?
Many 12 Step Programs use ‘slogans’; “Let go and let God” is one of them, and it is the basic premise of a Higher Power Box. It is a powerful tool for setting and manifesting intentions. Do you have a recovery goal, such as finding a sponsor, or having a particularly troublesome character defect removed? You can stop concerning yourself with “making it happen.” HOW it happens is not your job. Just set the intention, write it on a piece of paper, put it in your Higher Power Box, and let it go. Sometimes your goals manifest quickly, sometimes slowly. They will always materialize according to the Divine Plan For You if you stay close to your program of recovery, use your Higher Power Box and BELIEVE that the PERFECT ANSWER will come to you. Try it!
